The company was incorporated. In the first years of its operation, vessels were employed to support Palm Oil Trading Division of the company affiliate, PT SMART. A company under Sinar Mas Group dealing with palm oil related businesses.
The Company was awarded ISO 9001 Certification. With acquisition of two additional larger vessel in 1999 and 2002, trading area was also broadened, covering Asia Pacific and Indian Ocean. Since the last two acquired vessels are chemical carriers, the company has turned its vision to become a regional tanker operator.
